After gaining a Masters in Post War and Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in 1999 I subsequently began work for a provincial firm of Fine Art Auctioneers where my principle role was as a valuer of household contents for either sale, probate or insurance.

During this time I was also trying to pursue my love of painting, and held a number of one man exhibitions in London, and was a part of a handful of group shows. Seeing the age of 40 clearly within my sights I decided to take the plunge and embark on a Masters Fine Art Degree at Bath School of Art and Design, which is now coming to an end as I write this (9th September 2015).

My current practice has been heavily influenced by my time as a valuer, and I feel as if I have only touched the tip of the ice burg as to where this line of enquiry could take me. I also see further potential in my methodology (as described in my statement), using different source material (for example museum or institutional collections).

I am very open to have discussions with individuals, or group of people, who might be interested in exploring specific lines of visual enquiry,  whether it be within Britain or further afield in Europe.
